Rather than remaining at the scale of broad architectural rhetoric, the deck dwells on the details that actually shape domestic life: stone edge conditions at the pool, exterior kitchen use, sanding floors and windows at the entrance, converting a closet into a mud room, limewash in the bedroom, Japanese-room references, mint-framed shower tile, Danish dining chairs, and stair repairs. The strongest Chesa reading of this project is that restoration is not only an envelope question.
